Control Rooms
Behind every successful surveillance system lies a successful control room, and security specialist VIT Security Group has the expertise, experience and proven track record in creating and adapting control rooms to meet every client’s individual needs.
The control room design and fitting service provided by VIT is a natural complement to its design, manufacture and supply of electronic security equipment and benefits from this.
Control room, infrastructure and surveillance devices are specified utilising the latest advances in technology. The latest security solutions used by VIT in its control rooms include large plasma screens and IP-based digital video recording (DVR) which offers a number of advantages over the more conventional coax and matrix camera transmission method.
The IP-based DVR allows continual local secure digital recording, even in the event of a communications or network failure. Recording can be replayed simply on reconnection of the line. The use of a highly secure firewalled virtual private network also means that hacking into the control room system is virtually impossible.
Control room personnel can be given full access to all of the pre-recorded and stored footage at each remote camera location and this can be easily downloaded to PC, burned onto DVD or CD for evidential purposes, emailed to clients or printed as still images.
VIT’s overt and covert cameras, which operate at ultra low light levels, provide sharp recordings of evidential quality which have been used successfully in court.
Recent control room contracts completed include one for guarding specialist Knightsbridge Guarding Limited which helps to safeguard multiple key sites for blue chip companies and banks in the City of London. This room has stunning surveillance capability with the ability to record all cameras at 12-15 frames per second, uninterrupted onto local hard drives for 31 days.
Remote Monitoring
For those looking to reduce their costs but at the same time increase their coverage, VIT and its partners can even provide its own remote monitoring service.
This is done using a state of the art control room which is staffed by IT trained and qualified security operators at competitive costs. This service provides a cost-effective solution to property and estate managers who want round the clock coverage without the overheads of manned on-site services.
The VIT control room is ideal for use during the silent hours at night and at weekends, using electronic systems and remote monitoring to provide expert coverage. In addition, VIT’s monitoring services offer daily diagnostic checks and support to ensure all equipment is working as it should.
