Robert Jackson | Non-Executive Director
Robert Jackson is a highly experienced executive who qualified as an accountant before embarking on a successful early career in corporate finance.
He worked at a number of investment banks and advisory firms including Charterhouse Tilney and Deloitte & Touche Corporate Finance.
Since 2000, he has held a number of Chief Executive positions, in both full-time and interim roles. He also advised companies in a Non-Executive capacity.
His recent executive positions have included interim Chief Executive of Wynton Foods Limited and of FII Group PLC, and CEO of Special Products Limited, a pharmaceutical firm.
Dave Harmon | Chief Executive Officer
Dave formed what is today known as VIT Security Group in 2002, drawing on his security background and work within the covert and overt security fields.
He brought together several contacts with appropriate skills and experience that he knew and had worked with to establish VIT, the foundation of VIT Security Group.
Dave's work in integrated electronic security and surveillance saw him managing projects for sites including The South bank Centre in London, The Houses of Parliament in London, Coca Cola UK, London Air Traffic Control Centre, Heathrow Airport Control Tower and Sumitomo Trading along with some specialist airfield projects.
He has designed and produced covert systems for police, military and government bodies and has a specialist interest in ultra low light and through fog evidential imaging for police, commercial, military and homeland security applications and also long range visual surveillance for standoff applications.
He has also has keen interest in lens technology combined with low light sensors and been involved in the design of solutions for aircraft and unmanned aerial vehicles to increase performance, endurance and image transmission quality in low light and fog.
Today Dave is responsible for the overall direction of the VIT Security Group.
He is best known by staff and clients as an innovator, with an outstanding ability to translate customers’ exacting (and sometimes challenging) requirements into world beating security solutions.
Dave spends his time between his three boys’ demands to go extreme mountain biking, rock climbing and playing squash and likes to spend time sport shooting with Cola the family Labrador and being involved with anything that flies or drives.
Bonnie Harmon | Director of Marketing and Communications
Co-founder of VIT Security Group, Bonnie Harmon worked in the City of London for many years as a financial controller of a Japanese investment management firm and as a Futures and Options accountant with a large American bank.
Bonnie is a graduate of University College Dublin and a qualified accountant.
Originally Operations Director for VIT Security Group, Bonnie headed the team responsible for developing the company’s core systems. Personally she held complete responsibility for all financial and legal aspects of the business.
In her new role as Director of Marketing and Communications, Bonnie has assumed a more dynamic role which includes PR, marketing and customer relations.
She works within a framework that recognizes the importance of strong employee synergy and excellent customer service, from which enduring strategic alliances develop.
Bonnie likes to spend her free time with her three boys. All enjoy rock climbing and squash and mountain biking pursuits. She also enjoys aerobics and reading.

Ed Butler CBE DSO | Special Advisor
After 24 years in the British Army, Ed Butler retired as one of the youngest and most respected Brigadiers of his generation.
He achieved high acclaim as a Commander of British Forces in Afghanistan and has commanded at all levels within 22 SAS, including the period over 9/11. He has led assignments from Headquarters and the field level in a wide variety of settings, including Northern Ireland, Bosnia, Macedonia, Iraq and Afghanistan.
He has undertaken sensitive defence diplomacy tasks in both the Middle East and Asia. Ed also has exceptional skills and first-hand experiences in confrontation analysis, political to tactical mediation, negotiation and complex project management.
He has an Honours degree in Politics and International Relations from Exeter University and MAs in Military Technology and Defence Studies. From 2003 to 2005 he directed the UK Defence Academy’s Higher Command and Staff Course.
Key staff
Farrell Sheridan | IT Manager
Dublin-born Farrell worked in his family's automotive business before opening his own computer consultancy in 1996, specialising in remote communications and support ads system design.
Accountancy firms, Cheshire foundation, BMW and Nissan motor dealers and graphic design houses were among his major clients.
Farrell's experience covers a vast range of remote IP communications, hardware and software, with specialist network and virtual private network communications. He operates in the UK, and EMEA sectors for VIT, where there are existing and new projects and customers to support.
Having known Farrell since the age of six, Dave Harmon asked him to join VIT in 2004 to manage all of the IT and communications across the group. He continues to do this as well as managing the IT engineering team.
Farrell’s experience enables the VIT Group to successfully combine the disciplines of IT and CCTV computer network security and remote diagnostics, an important element that keeps us ahead of the competition.
Eugene O'Mahony | Special Projects Director
The Special Projects Division provides a range of services. Electronic Counter Measures, Remote Monitoring, Covert and Overt CCTV Installations, Executive Protection, Events Security Mangement and Security Training.
The Division believes that it has the good judgement and experience to interchange between a strategic and tactical approach to security when necessary, and holds the view that good security is an aid not a hindrance, to good business practice.
Eugene has over 30 years of experience in the private security industry. Has worked in most fields of security from the Manned Guarding sector, The North Sea Oil Industry and in latterly as the Head of Security for a large Merchant Bank based in the City of London.
He is a Committee Member of the City of London Crime Prevention Association and has been the recipient of two City of London Police commendations for his work in crime prevention. He is also the Editor of City Security Magazine and a Freeman of the City of London.
Steve Croft | Project Engineer
Steve worked in radio & TV servicing and precision engineering, before joining the Army in the 1960s where his role included work as a radio operator on tanks. He spent two years with the Army Air Corp in Germany before returning to the UK and working on weapons and night-vision related development.
After leaving the Army, Steve worked for 14 years at Vauxhall Motors as a group leader/setter in the Plastics division. He then became a self-employed electronics specialist, working on electronic & PCB design and pre-production prototypes.
These spanned industrial control, UPS remote monitoring, security dongles, light barrier safety modifications, digital cable tester/analyser re-design, PC anti-theft systems, and cosmetic laser treatment.
Steve designed electronic active hearing protection for weapons users including the Police and Militar, these units were issued a NATO part No. These units can hear a pin drop, but not a gun firing. He went on to develop a version of the device for a PLC, currently being sold worldwide.
Steve joined VIT Innovation in January 2007 spearheading research and development in electronics and power management for the further development of VIT's innovative products.
One of Steve’s passions is RF Video, having achieved over 1 Km on micropower, using a custom made hi-gain antenna system. Steve's inventiveness knows no boundaries and he enjoys designing extremely small surface mount PCB's, some smaller than a postage stamp.
Andy Dunsire | Project Engineer
Andy is a specialist in fabrication, optics and surveillance equipment. He spent 30 years in the Middle East, initially working on military aircraft before moving into the field of airborne photographic reconnaissance during the Dhofar War years
.
Andy is involved in the development, fabrication and testing of lens, motor and camera assemblies. He is an integral part of the team that allows VIT to provide bespoke covert surveillance solutions to specialist markets.
His expertise in covert surveillance equipment has helped provide tailor-made solutions for the company has created systems for use by the military, police forces, private and public sector organisations

Keith Salway | Business Development Manager
Keith’s early career history was in electronics engineering as a System Designer for the offshore petrochemical industry’s emergency evacuation systems, moving up through the engineering ranks to Senior Projects Manager.
He then branched into sales as an Applications Engineer which demanded combining customer skills with engineering requirements. It was here that his flair for sales first became apparent.
Keith then moved into sales full time in the UK Rail sector, working on Customer Information Systems and dealing with both hardware and software.
In 2007 he was seconded by his company from the successful Rail systems to revitalise sales in Defence systems, providing him with ideal experience for a role with VIT.
Keith is now putting his experience of helping clients identify solutions and of Defence Electronics to good use at VIT, playing an important role in building and strengthening successful relationships with clients new and old.
In his spare time Keith enjoys motorcycling, clay shooting and fly fishing.
